At MacGillis Wiemer, LLC, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Yesterday, our team had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Hunger Task Force Farm, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget.
A Day of Impact
On a warm, partly cloudy Wisconsin afternoon, perfect for working outdoors, our team came together with a common goal: to help feed Southeastern Wisconsin’s food-insecure populations. Our team worked together to harvest an impressive 1,584 lbs of lettuce! This fresh, healthy produce will go to low-income children, seniors, and families who often face hunger due to a lack of resources or access to nutritious food.
The Importance of The Farm
The Hunger Task Force Farm plays a crucial role in our community. As a nonprofit dedicated to providing food locally and free of charge, the farm relies entirely on donations and the hard work of volunteers. From purchasing seeds in the winter to fueling tractors throughout the growing season, every contribution counts.
Community Effort
We are deeply humbled by the warm welcome we received from the farm team. Their dedication to supporting food-insecure populations is truly inspiring. As they mentioned, “We cannot do what we do without you,” and it was an honor to help them make such a significant impact.
