Attorney Marisol González Castillo is an attorney at MacGillis Wiemer, LLC where she focuses on personal injury law. As a personal injury attorney, she recognizes the stress that can come with these cases and the importance of having a dedicated, detailed, and communicative representative. Attorney González Castillo strives to help her clients obtain the best compensation possible while ensuring that her clients understand the process and are comfortable with every step of the case.
Before joining MacGillis Wiemer, LLC Attorney González Castillo successfully represented clients in the areas of personal injury, worker’s compensation, landlord/tenant, consumer, and unemployment compensation.
2023 Nomination for State Bar President
In 2023 Attorney González Castillo’s leadership and dedication led the State Bar’s nominating committee to nominate her to run for the highest office within the organization, State Bar President.
In addition to her nomination as State Bar President, Attorney González Castillo was also selected and participated in the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Leadership Summit and she has served as a visiting faculty in the Lawyering Skills and Professional Responsibilities classes at the University of Wisconsin Law school, among other things.
2022 Diversity and Inclusion Trailblazer Award
Attorney González Castillo was awarded the 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Trail Blazer Award by the Wisconsin State Bar. This award recognizes individuals who are deliberate and intentional in their efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the profession, increase awareness for greater diversity and inclusion, and demonstrate the State Bar’s strategic principle of encouraging diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
During law school, Attorney González Castillo interned with the Wisconsin Innocence Project and the Chicago Legal clinic. In her last year of law school, she further led the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society as the Editor-in-Chief. Attorney González Castillo received the Bruce F. Beilfuss Memorial Award for her service to the law school, the Katherine Held Memorial Award for her service to the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender & Society, and a distinction from the Pro Bono Society.
As a transplant from Mexico City, Mexico, Attorney González Castillo understands the importance of communicating with clients in their own language and is pleased to be able to provide her representation in Spanish and English. Attorney González Castillo is also a member of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association and the Wisconsin Association for Justice.
Outside of work, Attorney González Castillo enjoys biking, baking, and spending time with her partner and dogs.
